Utah’s Premier Helicopter Flight School Serving from the Ogden-Hinckley Airport
Blade Helicopter Training School is a locally owned and operated company based in Ogden, Utah. Our experienced flight instructors are dedicated to providing safe, professional, and personalized helicopter training. As a student, you'll receive one-on-one instruction tailored to your goals, skill level, and pace of learning.
Minimum requirement to be an instructor anywhere else is 200 hours. At Blade Helicopter we understand the importance of safety and instruction. Included with your training is night time off airport, lighted helipads off airport and you will learn to fly with the most up to date and current avionics in each helicopter. There are no prerequisites required. Anyone can sign up! What happens at the end of your instruction and you don’t own a helicopter? You will have the opportunity to become a flight instructor!
You do NOT have to have a college degree or be good at math, you WILL get to fly right away and you do NOT have to complete school, you can quit at any time and YOUR hours will be transferable anywhere in the United States.

Tyler Grant
Meet Tyler Grant, owner of Blade Helicopter and the pilot behind our operation. A dual-rated helicopter and fixed-wing pilot with more than 15 years of flying experience, Tyler is passionate about aviation and helping future pilots achieve their goals. He takes pride in building a flight school centered on safety, professionalism, and quality instruction. Outside of flying, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and 9-year-old son, camping, boating, and making the most of every outdoor adventure.
Justin Stillwell
Meet Justin Stillwell, CFII and Base Manager at Blade Helicopter. A former United States Army soldier, Justin has always enjoyed challenging himself through motorcycle racing, scuba diving, and martial arts while maintaining a strong commitment to safety. Today, he channels that passion into helicopter flying and flight instruction, helping students become safe, confident pilots. Justin is a devoted husband, father of four, proud grandfather, and enjoys traveling, camping, kayaking, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
Levi Newton
Meet Levi Newton, one of Blade Helicopter's Certified Flight Instructors. A former U.S. Air Force helicopter mechanic turned pilot, Levi brings a unique technical background and genuine passion for aviation to every lesson. He enjoys helping students build confidence while sharing his enthusiasm for helicopters and flight. Outside the cockpit, Levi enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, mountain biking, running, camping, and exploring Utah's outdoors.
Nathan Reinhart
Meet Nathan Reinhart, one of Blade Helicopter's Certified Flight Instructors. Nathan developed his passion for aviation after flying in helicopters as a wildland firefighter and has always enjoyed working with mechanical systems. Drawing from his experience as both a firefighter and instructor, he enjoys helping students learn and grow with confidence. Nathan lives in Ogden with his wife and spends his free time camping, paddle boarding, off-roading, and enjoying the outdoors.
Mats Lindgren
Mats Lindgren, one of Blade Helicopter's Certified Flight Instructors. Inspired to fly at a young age by a former Air Force flight instructor, Mats pursued his aviation dreams after graduating from the University of Utah. He earned every one of his helicopter ratings at Blade, giving him firsthand knowledge of the training journey each student experiences. Today, he enjoys helping students build their skills while sharing his passion for aviation. Outside of flying, Mats enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.
